DD Direct +
  • With 33 TV Channels & 12 Radio Channels, Doordarshan - The Public Broadcaster - launched DD Direct + on 16th Dec. 2004.
  • It is India's first Free Direct-To-Home Service.

  • It uses Indian Satellite INSAT Series
  • Carriage fee is Rs 25 lakhs per channel per year.

Dish TV
  • With about 100 channels, Subhash Chandra-promoted Zee Group launched Dish TV on 2nd October 2003.
  • It is India's first Direct-To-Home Entertainment Service.
  • Dish TV has more than 2 million subscribers.
  • It uses Dutch satellite NSS6
  • Carriage fee are as much as Rs 4 Crore per channel per year.

Tata Sky
  • A 80:20 joint nt venture between Rupert Murdoch’s Star and Tatas launched Tata Sky in 2006.
  • It is India's third Direct-To-Home Service.
  • Tata Sky has more than 1 million subscribers.
